Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Binayah (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Binayah mobile application and related services (the “Service”). The Service is operated for residential communities in Jordan.
1. Who we are
Binayah is a privacy-first community app for private buildings, compounds, and houses.
The Android app is published under the package name com.atomsgroup.binayah.
For privacy questions, contact us at
support@binayah.app.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:
- Account information: name, email address, profile photo URL, and account status.
- Phone number: collected for sign-in (OTP) and urgent alerts when you choose phone authentication or link a number.
- Property membership: buildings you join, unit number, role (resident, manager, guard, etc.), and related property settings.
- Community content: announcements, chat messages, maintenance requests, polls, visitor logs, guard records, expenses, and other data you submit within a property.
- Craftsman profile (if you register as a service provider): business details, categories, service areas, and reviews — not your personal phone number in the public profile.
- Device and usage data: app version, device type, crash reports, and analytics events to improve reliability and security.
- Push notification tokens to deliver alerts you opt into.
3. Phone number privacy
Your phone number is stored separately from your public profile and is not shown to neighbors, guards, managers, or craftsmen in the app. Contact with craftsmen goes through in-app relay; phone numbers are not exposed to other users. Only you (and our systems for authentication and critical alerts) can access your linked phone number.
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide and operate the Service (authentication, property access, communications, finance tools, guard features where enabled).
- Send notifications you have enabled in app settings.
- Enforce property roles, subscriptions, and security rules.
- Improve the app, prevent abuse, and comply with law.
- Process subscription billing records for building committees (B2B); residents use the app free of charge.
5. Legal bases (where applicable)
We process data as needed to perform our contract with you, with your consent (e.g. optional notifications), and for legitimate interests such as security and product improvement, consistent with applicable Jordanian law.
6. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:
- Within your property — with members who have access according to their role and your building’s settings (e.g. managers see join requests; guards see visitor logs for that property).
- With service providers — including Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, cloud functions, analytics, messaging) under their terms and security measures.
- When required by law — or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of users and the Service.
7. Data retention
We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Property data you created may remain for other members after you leave a building. You may request account deletion in the app (Profile → Account), or visit binayah.app/delete-account; deletion removes your profile, private phone data, and signs you out, subject to legal retention requirements.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), Firebase security rules, role-based access, and App Check on production builds. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we work to protect your data and will notify you of significant breaches where required by law.
9. Your choices and rights
- Update your name and profile in the app.
- Manage notification preferences in settings.
- Link or use phone authentication as offered in your region.
- Delete your account from Account in the app, or via binayah.app/delete-account.
- Contact support@binayah.app to ask about access, correction, or deletion of personal data.
10. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data.
11. International processing
Data may be processed using cloud infrastructure that operates in or outside Jordan (including Google Cloud). We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards for cross-border processing.
12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
